Persona developer Atlus announces company-wide employee pay rise
Atlus, the company behind the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona franchises, has announced that it will raise the average salary of its Tokyo-based employees next year.
The details:
Sega executive Osamu Ohashi announced (via PR Times) that the company's subsidiary Atlus will raise the average annual salary for employees by 15% beginning in April 2024. New graduates will also see an increase in pay from 257,000 to 300,000 JPY, which equates to roughly $2,000.
The changes are part of the company's plans to "further strengthen our sales performance and IP (intellectual property) and become competitive in the human resources market" next fiscal year, following the success of its franchises outside of Japan, with Persona, in particular, garnering a huge fanbase with the worldwide release of Persona 5 in 2017.
Atlus has several Persona titles in the works, including the spin-off Persona 5 Tactica, a remake titled Persona 3: Reload, and leaks from reliable sources claiming that the developer is currently working on a sixth mainline entry with a release date before 2026.
