The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Remastered has been revealed and is available now

Bethesda and Virtuos have revealed and shadow-dropped their Unreal Engine 5-powered remaster of 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion after several leaks earlier this month.
The details:
Following years of rumors and reports, Bethesda and Virtuos have unveiled Oblivion: Remastered with a new gameplay trailer streamed live to its YouTube and Twitch earlier today. Even better, the game is available right now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S (including via Game Pass) in both Standard and Deluxe Editions for $60 and $80, respectively. The Deluxe Edition includes exclusive Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armors and weapons, as well as horse armor, a direct nod to the original game's controversial micro DLC.
Oblivion: Remastered is built with the original title's Gamebryo engine in conjunction with Unreal Engine 5, providing a massive visual overhaul while remaining true to the 2006 RPG in terms of overall gameplay. However, several key gameplay mechanics have been updated to make them more accessible to modern audiences, including sneaking, third-person view, sprinting, blocking, and stamina, as well as changes to the HUD and menu designs. Its poorly received levelling system has also been overhauled, combining elements from Oblivion and Skyrim.
During the reveal livestream, Bethesda's Todd Howard explained that the goal of the remaster is to provide players with the same experience as they had when the original game was released.
Fortunately, its small but iconic voice cast appears to have been preserved, including Patrick Stewart's performance as Uriel Septim and Wes Johnson’s portrayal of Sheogorath. However, Virtuos has recorded new dialogue for all the in-game races, finally providing characters with unique voices.
Oblivion's critically acclaimed DLC expansions, Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles, will be included alongside other minor add-ons like the Wizard's Tower.
Rumors of an Oblivion remake first circulated a few years ago, when an alleged former Virtuos employee claimed that the game was in the works. Leaked Microsoft documents later revealed that the remake existed as of 2020, but the title was never mentioned again aside from in insider reports. Last month, it was claimed that the remaster would be released as early as April via a shadow drop, which was later backed by several screenshot leaks stemming from Virtuos' website.
