Nintendo has officially revealed the lead cast for its highly anticipated live-action The Legend of Zelda movie, confirming that Bo Bragason will play Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will portray Link. The film is now slated for a theatrical release on May 7, 2027.
The details:
Bo Bragason (21) previously appeared in Renegade Nell (Netflix) and The Jetty (BBC); her look in the reveal image channels Zeldaโs Breath of the Wild style.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (16) is best known for his role in The Haunting of Bly Manor and appears in a green tunic resembling Linkโs classic look.
The film is directed by Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), written by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World), and co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad.
Initially scheduled for March, the release was delayed to May 7, 2027 to allow extra production time and avoid a crowded spring blockbuster slate.
