Metro 2039 will be revealed later this week, 4A Games announces

4A Games will debut the first look at Metro 2039, the next mainline entry in its post‑apocalyptic shooter series, in a new Xbox showcase on Thursday.

The details:

• Following several leaks and reports, 4A Games has confirmed that the new game will be unveiled in a dedicated showcase on Thursday, April 16, at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm BST. The showcase will be streamed as a YouTube Premiere on Xbox’s official channel, with an Xbox Wire post scheduled to release after the event to share further details.
• Metro 2039 will be the fourth game in the franchise following Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, and Metro Exodus, and will once again be set in the post-apocalyptic world of Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novels.
• Not much has been shared about the title prior to the announcement, but 4A Games has previously said that it is being shaped by the studio’s experiences during the Russian invasion of its home country Ukraine, with the team leaning even further into its anti-war themes.
