CI Games has confirmed that a follow-up to last year’s reboot of Lords of the Fallen is targeting a 2026 release.

The details:

  • According to a recent filing from the publisher (via Bankier), the sequel, referred to as "Project 3," is in the works with a release window of 2026. The filing also reveals that Epic Games has exclusive distribution rights for the title's PC release and that rights "on all other platforms, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms for which the game is currently in development, will remain with the company".

  • There isn't much information available about the title yet, but it will be the third installment in the Soulslike franchise, with the original 2014 game and the 2023 sequel both receiving mixed reviews due to technical issues and other shortcomings. Since the reboot's release in October, developer Hexworks has released free updates that include new content, quality-of-life improvements, and bug fixes, with the most recent update arriving in April.

  • Since the release of Lords of the Fallen, CI Games has gone through two rounds of layoffs, initially reducing its workforce by 10% in January, followed by additional cuts in May. The company stated that the cuts would enable "maximum efficiency in delivering strategic priorities going forward."
