CI Games, best known as the publisher of Soulslike Lords of the Fallen, has announced that it will lay off another 30 employees as part of its ongoing restructuring program.

The details:

  • The publisher confirmed the cuts in a statement to GamesIndustry.biz, stating that it will be the "final, targeted round of redundancies" during its restructuring plan, to streamline the company for "maximum efficiency in delivering strategic priorities going forward."

  • Hexworks, the team behind 2023's Lords of the Fallen, was not affected by the layoffs and will continue to work on the upcoming action RPG "Project III," which is set to be released in 2025. "Project Survive" developer Underdog Studio has also been given more time to work on the project's vertical slice before it goes into full production.

  • Despite reporting record-high revenues in the 2023/24 fiscal year following the release of Lords of the Fallen, CI Games began 2024 by announcing a 10% workforce reduction as part of its restructuring. CEO Marek Tymiński stated that the decision was made to "preserve business strength and stability."
