CI Games has terminated its PC publishing deal with Epic Games for Lords of the Fallen 2, meaning the sequel is no longer bound to launch as an Epic Games Store exclusive and can now potentially release on Steam and other PC storefronts alongside consoles later this year.

The details:

  • Back in June 2024, CI Games entered a partnership that gave Epic “exclusive worldwide distribution rights” for the PC version of Lords of the Fallen 2 for its entire product life cycle, effectively making it an Epic Games Store exclusive from day one.
  • According to a filing reported by Polish news outlet Bankier (via Game Developer), CI Games and Epic signed a separation agreement on 14 April 2026 that fully terminates the previously signed deal. The termination is described as “conditional in nature,” and the exact financial terms or conditions for the deal to remain in force have not been revealed, though it’s believed that CI Games effectively bought its way out of the agreement.
  • With the termination of the deal, CI Games is now free to bring Lords of the Fallen 2 to other PC storefronts such as Steam and GOG if they wish, with the console versions still being self-published. However, the developer’s other agreements with Epic, including those relating to Unreal Engine, are still in place.
