Horizon: Zero Dawn is being removed from PlayStation Plus amid rumors of a remaster
Horizon: Zero Dawn is set to be removed from the PlayStation Plus catalog later this month, amid rumors of a PS5 remaster.
The details:
As spotted by Reddit user u/Melodic_Cake_3344 and verified by Eurogamer, a new message has appeared on the PS5's home screen stating that Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition will be removed from the game catalog for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on May 21. The game is leaving the service with 25 other titles, including six Final Fantasy games.
The only way to play Zero Dawn on PS5 is to install the PS4 version, which has been updated to increase the frame rate to 60 FPS. The lack of a native PS5 version of one of Sony's most successful releases has fueled speculation that a remaster is on the way, with rumors circulating in late 2022.
Sony has a history of releasing updated versions of its major releases for newer systems. In recent years, Marvel's Spider-Man and both The Last of Us games have received critically acclaimed re-releases that include new content and accessibility improvements. If rumors of a Zero Dawn remaster are true, it will most likely be announced soon, with visuals more in line with its sequel, Forbidden West.
