Final Fantasy 7 Revelation announced for 2027, coming to PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2
Square Enix

Square Enix has confirmed that the final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is titled Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, and it will launch simultaneously across the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in spring 2027.

The details:

  • As announced by director Naoki Hamaguchi during Summer Game Fest, Revelation is the third and final entry in the remake trilogy, following 2020โ€™s Final Fantasy 7 Remake and 2024โ€™s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and will wrap up the franchiseโ€™s new storyline.
  • This is the first time a game in the Remake trilogy will not be a timed PlayStation exclusive, with Revelation set to launch across all platforms at the same time. This was a likely scenario, as Square Enix previously revealed that it would be moving away from exclusivity deals due to the underwhelming sales performance of Rebirth and FF16.
  • The debut trailer shows off the gameโ€™s open-world exploration, the Highwind airship in motion, battles in Wutai, and fan-favorite characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind making their playable debut in the remake series.
