Square Enix has confirmed that the final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is titled Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, and it will launch simultaneously across the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in spring 2027.
The details:
As announced by director Naoki Hamaguchi during Summer Game Fest, Revelation is the third and final entry in the remake trilogy, following 2020’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake and 2024’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and will wrap up the franchise’s new storyline.
This is the first time a game in the Remake trilogy will not be a timed PlayStation exclusive, with Revelation set to launch across all platforms at the same time. This was a likely scenario, as Square Enix previously revealed that it would be moving away from exclusivity deals due to the underwhelming sales performance of Rebirth and FF16.
The debut trailer shows off the game’s open-world exploration, the Highwind airship in motion, battles in Wutai, and fan-favorite characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind making their playable debut in the remake series.
