Playground Games, the developer behind the upcoming reboot of Microsoft’s Fable franchise, is believed to have opened a third location to work on the game.

The details:

  • As reported by Wccftech, the studio's LinkedIn page has been updated to state that it has "three world-class studios" in Leamington Spa. Playground's official website appears to have not been updated yet, stating that the developer consists of only two studios, one of which is its headquarters, and that it has a single "new studio on the other side of town."

  • All three studios are confirmed to be contributing to the development of Fable, but there is no information on how many employees are based in the new office location or whether it is focused on a specific aspect of the project.

  • Before taking on Fable's long-awaited reboot, Playground was best known for the open-world Forza Horizon franchise. Eidos Montreal, the studio behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, also confirmed that it was working on the game. Fable is currently scheduled for release on Xbox One and PC in 2025, with a day one Game Pass release for Ultimate subscribers.
