Evil West developer Flying Wild Hog is working on a “fast-paced” third-person action game

A job listing at the Polish developer confirms that it is now working on an unannounced third-person game for current-generation consoles and PC.

The details:

• As reported by Tech4Gamers, the studio behind 2022's Evil West is looking for new employees to fill a variety of positions, with the position of "VFX Artist" including some information about its upcoming project. According to the listing, the successful applicant will work on a "fast-paced" third-person action title built with Unreal Engine 5, which will be the developer's first game using the newer engine and will make use of the Niagara VFX system.
• Flying Wild Hog is best known for its titles with fast combat-oriented gameplay, such as the Shadow Warrior reboot. The studio translated the gameplay style into a third-person perspective with a focus on melee combat for Evil West, which was ultimately well received despite some technical issues plaguing its release, so it appears that the developer is sticking to what it knows best for its next title. Due to the similar-sounding gameplay, some speculate that it could also be a sequel to Evil West, given its generally positive reception.
• Outside of the information revealed in the job listing, not much is known about the project; however, it's more than likely a few years away, at least due to Evil West only releasing in November 2022, assuming that development wasn't in full swing until its launch period had concluded. Similar to Evil West, we'll likely learn more about the project in the future with a formal announcement at a major event such as the Game Awards.

• Bungie's unannounced IP could use the Unreal Engine instead of Destiny's in-house Tiger Engine, according to a recent job posting. This is just one of several recent examples of developers opting to switch from their own engines to licensed engines due to issues encountered during development cycles.
• Konami will reportedly appear at PlayStation's rumored showcase to announce a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. The remake is said to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, though it's unclear whether it will be permanently locked to the PS5 and possibly PC, or if it will get the same timed exclusivity treatment as Final Fantasy XVI.
• Tango Gameworks' next title will include some form of multiplayer. Fans believe that multiplayer will be a minor addition to a larger single-player game; however, the studio is known for experimenting with genres, so a new fully-fledged multiplayer release could be in the works.
