Dishonored developer Arkane is working on a Blade game
Arkane Lyon has announced that Marvel's Blade, a third-person action-adventure game starring the titular vampire hunter, is currently in development.
The details:
An announcement trailer featuring the character complete with his signature sunglasses, trench coat, and vampire-slaying sword was revealed at the Game Awards. There has been no word on a potential release date, but the project is believed to still be in its early stages.
Arkane appears to be opting for a visual style for the game compared to its previous titles, Deathloop and Dishonored, with co-creative and art director Sebastien Mitton stating in an Xbox Wire post that the title is "the perfect opportunity to push Arkane's art style into an even more modern and bold territory."
Blade joins several other Marvel IP-based games in development, including Insomniac Games’ Wolverine, EA Motive’s Black Panther, and Skydance New Media’s Captain America. If the aforementioned projects can match the quality of Insomniac's Spider-Man releases, Marvel fans will be in for a treat in the coming years.
