Dead by Daylight's PvE spin-off Project T has been canceled
Behaviour Interactive has confirmed that Project T, a PvE shooter spin-off of Dead by Daylight, has been canceled after “unsatisfactory” results from fan play tests.
The details:
In May, Behaviour revealed Project T, which was set to be a four-player co-op PvE shooter from Midwinter Entertainment. Players would "step into the role of Trespassers, a fierce group of characters trapped within a vast, unexplored region of The Entity's Realm called The Backwater." At the time, the game was still in early development, and select players would have the opportunity to test it.
Behaviour confirmed in a statement to X that Project T has been canceled after the game received inadequate feedback from participants of its Insider Program. “When we conceptualized Project T, we wanted to have players involved in it as early as possible, which led to the creation of the Insiders Program,” Behaviour said. “This approach has allowed us to get very early validation on the project’s core design and gameplay, which is something that often comes much further into the production of a game. Following the playtest in July, we ran a thorough internal risk assessment from a product and commercial perspective. While a number of players expressed appreciation for what they played, unfortunately, the outcome of this deep analysis yielded unsatisfactory overall results. It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that Project T has been canceled. We want to thank you for your support throughout this journey.”
Project T was just one of three Dead by Daylight spin-offs announced to be in the works, with two-player co-op roguelite What The Fog launching immediately after its reveal in May and cinematic horror The Casting of Frank Stone arriving earlier this month from Supermassive Games, the developer of Until Dawn.
