Bungie confirms Marathon's battle passes will not expire and can be bought at any time

Bungie has revealed new details about Marathon's monetization system, confirming that the upcoming extraction shooter will feature non-expiring battle passes and no pay-to-win mechanics.

The details:

• In a new post to X, the developer confirmed that Marathon will feature battle passes that never expire, allowing players to purchase and progress through passes from previous seasons at their own pace. 

• The game will use only two in-game currencies: Silk, which is earned exclusively through gameplay and used to progress battle passes, and Lux, a premium currency for the in-game cosmetic store. It has also been confirmed that Lux cannot be used to purchase any gameplay-changing content such as equipment.
• All gameplay-related content, including new Runners, maps, and weapons, will be available to all players for free. The premium battle pass will contain only cosmetic items, ensuring no pay-to-win advantages exist in the game. Despite seasonal wipes taking away equipment from players, runners and maps from previous seasons will remain permanently available.
