Epic unveils Unreal Engine 6 with new Rocket League teaser
Epic Games

Epic Games has officially teased Unreal Engine 6 during the Rocket League Championship Series Paris Major, confirming that Rocket League will migrate to the new engine and serve as one of its first showcase titles.

The details:

  • Psyonix showed a sneak peek of an updated Rocket League build running on Unreal Engine 6, with a trailer highlighting sharper visuals, new car designs, and a first look at the new purple UE6 logo, all captured in real time in‑game.
  • The announcement means Rocket League will finally leave its long‑standing Unreal Engine 3 foundation and effectively skip Unreal Engine 4 and 5, with Epic framing this upgrade as ushering in “the next era of Rocket League.”
  • There is still no detailed feature list or firm launch date, but Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has previously said UE6 is “a few years away,” and commentators suggest preview builds could land around 2027–2028, with the Rocket League tease hinting some teams will get access earlier than the wider dev community.
