Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remains one of the more popular entries in Ubisoft's long-running series, and while the original version still holds up today, rumors that a remake is in the works have been around since 2023, although Ubsioft has never publicly confirmed they are working on it.
Over the weekend, a clip of Edward Kenway voice actor, Matt Ryan, talking to a fan at a convention surfaced, showing the actor hinting that the remake is not only on the way but could be coming soon. Asking the fan if they had beaten the game, Ryan then said, "Well, you may have to beat it again," following that up with "There's a reason I say that, but I can't say anything."
Ubisoft has no new Assassin's Creed entry planned for this year, and fans are speculating that Black Flag could be released to fill the gap; however, it is important to reiterate that Ubisoft has not commented on whether or not the remake is in the works.
