The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion reportedly receiving a remake

A Reddit user claiming to be a former employee of co-development studio Virtuos has stated that the company is working on a remake/remaster of Skyrim's predecessor.

The details:

• An alleged former Virtuos employee made a now-deleted post to the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumors (via Xfire), and the individual was "verified" as a legitimate source by its moderators. The company is said to be working on five different projects, one of which is Metal Gear Solid Delta, but project "Altar," which they claim is a remake or remaster of Bethesda's 2006 classic Oblivion, has piqued the interest of fans of the original title.
• According to the former employee, it is being built with a "pairing system" that includes both Unreal Engine 5 and a heavily modified version of the Gamebryo engine used in the original. "The remaster is running on both an Unreal Engine 5 project and the old Oblivion project," claims the user. “For instance, new graphics are rendered in the Unreal Engine 5 project, but most of the gameplay, physics, etc are still done in Oblivion.”
• The game is expected to be released in late 2024 or early 2025, depending "mostly on whether it's a remake or a remaster." Virtuos' Paris studio is said to be in charge, but sister studio Black Shamrock is assisting with the project's art.
• Aside from the recently revealed Metal Gear Solid 3 remake codenamed "Cobra," which was also leaked by a former employee, Virtuos is said to be working on "Massive," which is described as an "internal project" with the aim of "becoming a big AAA project." It was described as a cross between Monster Hunter and Shadow of the Colossus, with players tasked with defeating massive bosses in a co-op environment. Other projects in the works at the studio include an expansion for Amazon's MMO, New World, and Ominous, a "narrative climbing game" in its early stages and being developed internally.
