A pre-release build of Concord, Firewalk Studios' short-lived hero shooter, has leaked online, showing the game's unfinished state nine months before its release.

The details:

  • As reported by VGC, the build dubbed FWChaos was uploaded over the weekend and is dated November 13, 2023, nine months before the game's launch in August of last year. It was downloaded by the publication and appears to be a legitimate build, though neither Sony nor any former Firewalk developers have commented on the leak.

  • When launched, the game displays a login screen that can be bypassed using the included developer menu, leading players to an empty character select screen from which they can access the main menu. From here, you can access the incomplete Galactic Guide and Crew menus, which contain lore and character information, non-functional Job Board and Store options, and additional developer settings.

  • However, Concord requires an online connection to play and does not allow players to select a character, so there is currently no way to play or explore the build's contents.

  • Concord is widely regarded as one of the most significant AAA live service failures of all time, with Sony pulling the plug on the game after only a few weeks due to low player numbers. Those who purchased the game received full refunds, with no monetary return for Sony despite a lengthy development cycle that reportedly cost upwards of $400 million.
