Xbox’s Forza Horizon 5 is coming to PS5 this spring with cross-play support

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox exclusive Forza series will make its PlayStation debut this spring, with Forza Horizon 5 coming to PS5 alongside full cross-play support.
The details:
According to a new blog post, Panic Button will port the 2021 title with assistance from original developer Playground Games and Forza Motorsport studio Turn 10. Set to arrive this spring, the game will include both of its full DLCs, Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure, as well as all previously released Car Packs and cross-play between PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Along with the PS5 release, Forza Horizon 5 will receive a free content update titled Horizon Realms. According to Playground Games, the update will "give players the chance to explore a curated collection of some of the community's favorite previously released Evolving Worlds, alongside some other surprises."
Panic Button, the port's developer, is best known for impressive Switch ports of games like Doom (2016), Warframe, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The studio has previously worked on the Forza Horizon franchise, including porting the fourth installment to the Xbox Series X/S.
Forza Horizon 5's release on PS5 is yet another example of a former Xbox exclusive making its way to rival platforms as part of Microsoft's multiplatform strategy. Recently, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer stated that the company's goal is to have its games playable in as many places as possible, rather than limiting them to its own hardware.
