Warner Bros gaming revenue declines by 48% following lack of new releases and Suicide Squad's failure

Warner Bros has revealed that its gaming revenue continues to decline, citing the company's failure to release any new major titles and the commercial failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
The details:
In its latest earnings report for Q1 2025, which ended March 31, the company confirmed a 48% decrease in overall gaming revenue but did not provide exact figures. It attributed the poor performance to Suicide Squad's failure to meet commercial and critical expectations last year, which was previously pointed out as a major cause behind the 41% drop in revenue in the 2024 fiscal year.
The company also noted that it has not released any new games or major expansions in recent months, which contributed significantly to the drop in revenue. Earlier this year, it was revealed that unannounced DLC for Hogwarts Legacy had been cancelled, as Warner Bros shuttered a number of studios working on new games, including Wonder Woman developer Monolith. Player First Games was among those caught in the closures after shutting down its live service fighter MultiVersus, and Suicide Squad's post-launch support ended with its most recent update.
Currently, the company's gaming revenue is fueled by Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1, both of which are performing well in terms of sales despite being released in the first half of 2023. Fortunately, its next major release will be a port of Hogwarts Legacy for the Nintendo Switch 2, which will launch alongside the console and is expected to perform well on the platform.
