CD PROJEKT

CD Projekt Red has officially announced Songs of the Past, a full third expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, arriving in 2027 across Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.

  • Songs of the Past is being co‑developed with Polish studio Fool’s Theory, whose team includes veterans who worked on the original Witcher 3 and are also handling the Witcher 1 remake. The expansion is the first major content release for 2015’s The Witcher 3 since Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine released in 2015–2016.
  • The expansion will only release on current‑gen hardware (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC), with no versions planned for PS4, Xbox One, or Switch. CDPR is also raising the PC system requirements to cater to the more intense expansion.
  • While CDPR is keeping the plot under wraps until a bigger reveal in late summer 2026, it’s believed that the expansion will fill out the story in the lead-up to the events of The Witcher 4, which will focus on Ciri rather than Geralt.
