The Last of Us Part 2 is receiving a native PS5 port
It has been spotted that a native PS5 version of The Last of Us Part 2 has been added to the PlayStation database, suggesting that an updated port may be announced very soon.
The details:
PlayStation Game Size, a reputable X account known for discovering upcoming releases by scraping the PlayStation Store's backend, has revealed TLOU 2 will be released on the PS5, with Insider Gaming also confirming the game's upcoming release via its sources.
TLOU 2, unlike other first-party titles such as Ghosts of Tsushima, never received a native PS5 version, despite being released on PS4 just months before the new console's launch. The original TLOU, on the other hand, received a full remake for the PS5 in the form of TLOU Part I, forcing fans to return to a game developed for the previous generation system to continue the story with poorer visuals and performance.
News of a remaster or port has been circulating for some time, with a Naughty Dog employee's LinkedIn profile mentioning "The Last of Us 2: Remastered" before quickly removing the mention. During an interview in July, series composer Gustavo Santaolalla hinted that an "enhanced version" of the game was in the works.
