Sony begins offering refunds to MindsEye buyers following buggy launch

The release of Build a Rocket Boyโs debut action title, MindsEye, has not gone smoothly, with Sony now offering refunds to players due to its extensive list of issues.
The details:
Earlier this week, MindsEye was released to widespread criticism from the gaming community due to its weak narrative, uninspired gameplay, and, most notably, an abundance of bugs that range from minor inconveniences to game-breaking. The game is the debut title from the Edinburgh-based Build a Rocket Boy, founded by former Grand Theft Auto V producer Leslie Benzies.
Due to the issues, Sony has altered its controversially tight refund policy to allow players to receive refunds for the game, even after it has been played. This is similar to the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, which was also infamously broken, leading to refunds being offered and the game being pulled from the PlayStation Store.
Since the rocky launch, the studio has apologized to players, stating that it is โheartbrokenโ that players have run into so many issues. It has also issued a hotfix for the game, addressing a memory leak that led to crashes, as well as other major issues, with three more waves of patches arriving by the end of June.
