Bloodborne animated movie officially announced by Sony

Sony has announced that a new animated film based on FromSoftware’s beloved PS4 title Bloodborne is now in the works, with YouTuber Seán “Jacksepticeye” McLoughlin involved as a producer.

The details:

• The project was announced during Sony Pictures’ CinemaCon 2026 presentation, where Motion Picture Group president Sanford Panitch said the adaptation will stay “very true” to the game’s gothic tone and horror.
• Nothing has been revealed about the plot, cast, or director, but Sony has confirmed that McLoughlin will produce the film alongside Lyrical Animation, Sony Pictures, and PlayStation Productions.
• Despite the film’s announcement, Bloodborne has yet to see a port or re-release, remaining a PS4 exclusive to this day. Fans have requested a remaster of the game for years following the launch of Dark Souls Remastered, but former PlayStation veteran Shuhei Yoshida shared that it has likely not happened as game director Hidetaka Miyazaki is simply too busy and does not want to hand the project to someone else.
