Skate. developer Full Circle gives players in-game currency for dealing with game-breaking issues
Electronic Arts

Full Circle, the EA-owned studio behind the recent reboot of Skate., is handing out in-game currency as it acknowledges that many players have been impacted by a number of bugs during its early access period.

The details:

  • In a new developer update posted to the game’s website, Full Circle thanked the “tens of millions” of Skate. players who have jumped into the title since its early access launch in mid-September but admitted that things haven’t been perfect. “Things have not gone as smoothly for some of you as we would have liked,” the studio wrote. “A lot more (we’re talking millions) players joined us in these first few weeks than we expected - and with that came bugs, glitches, progression locks, and performance issues.”
  • While noting that the game is still in early access, it explained that development on a live service title is a “balancing act” with resources being split between adding new content for its seasonal structure, fixing technical and gameplay issues, and making highly requested changes. Full Circle added that it has since fixed issues with progression and that it recently deployed an update “to resolve system overload and errors when our daily tasks reset.”
  • The developer outlined a number of changes coming to Skate. in the future, including making updates to its in-game store to make “premium items feel even more unique and valuable,” making the season pass less of a grind, and adding even more branded and licensed cosmetic items.
  • As a thank you to players, everyone who logs into Skate. between November 10 and December 2 will receive 2,000 season pass Tix and 500 of the game’s SVB premium currency to spend on in-game items. Those with leftover Tix by the end of Season 1 will have their remaining currency roll over to Season 2.
