Sega reveals Like a Dragon spin-off "Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii"
Sega has announced a new spin-off in Ryu Ga Gotoku's Like a Dragon series, titled Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, starring fan-favorite character Goro Majima.
The details:
The title takes place after the events of Infinite Wealth, with ex-yakuza Majima "shipwrecked on a remote island in the Pacific." After being unable to recall how he got to the island or even his own name, he is joined by a boy named Noah as he searches for clues and finds himself in various dangerous situations.
Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will allow players to assemble their own pirate crew, battle criminals on the open seas in two different combat styles utilizing pirate equipment, upgrade their ship, and even board other ships in pursuit of treasure. Players can also sail around the world to discover new locations like pirate hub Madlantis, the small but dangerous Rich Island, and even Hawaii, which appeared in Infinite Wealth.
The game is set to launch on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC on February 28, 2025.
Earlier this month, a promotional page for Yakuza Wars, a new Like a Dragon mobile game, appeared online. A trademark for the title was discovered earlier this year, and as RGG Studio prepared to reveal a new game, many fans were concerned that it would not be a full home release but a generic free-to-play mobile title.
