Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is set to reveal a new game at the Tokyo Game Show, and it may be Yakuza Wars.

It appears that an official Sega Facebook page for "Yakuza Wars" has surfaced, revealing artwork and basic details about the mobile game.

The details:

  • As spotted by X user Knoebel, the Facebook page, which is aimed at Chinese players, features artwork of popular franchise characters such as Kiryu Kazuma as well as a brief description. “Sega's first official Like a Dragon mobile game is a brand new, classic gangster-themed masterpiece for mobile phones, creating an innovative strategy war game,” it reads (translation via DeepL). “Here, you can fight side by side with Kiryu Kazuma, Kasuga Ichiban, Mashima Goro and other classic characters, and write your own legendary story in the yakuza world.”

  • The page's legitimacy has not been confirmed, but trailers and mobile ads for the title have been spotted. Fans also believe that AI was used in some of the art, as some characters appear to have unusual features, such as Kiryu's cigarette blending into his skin.

  • Sega registered a trademark for Yakuza Wars earlier this year, prompting speculation that it could be a Like a Dragon spin-off or a collaboration with Sega's Sakura Wars franchise. With series developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio stating that its next game will be a "surprise," Yakuza Wars could be the title that it plans to announce at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.
