Sega re-registers Skies of Arcadia trademarks, suggesting a potential re-release

Sega has renewed its trademarks for Skies of Arcadia and its original Japanese title, Eternal Arcadia, leading fans to believe that an updated port, remaster, or remake may be in the works.
The details:
As spotted by SEGA Informant on X, the company filed trademarks for Skies of Arcadia and Eternal Arcadia on January 16, which became public on the 24th. While it does not confirm Sega has any plans for the IP, it does suggest that a re-release in some form may be on the way as the company continues to lean on its older releases.
The JRPG debuted on the Dreamcast in 2000, before being ported to the GameCube in 2002 following the failure of Sega's final console. Despite receiving widespread critical acclaim to this day, a PC port of the title was canceled, and it has not been released on any other platform since GameCube. However, the franchise has maintained a strong fan base, with protagonist Vyse appearing in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and developer Kenji Hiruta publicly stating that he hopes it is revived by Sega.
Sega announced in late 2023 that it would reboot several of its older IPs, including Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, and Virtua Fighter. It was later revealed that each new title would combine elements of the original series' style with modern features, such as Crazy Taxi becoming an open-world multiplayer game. Sega may have plans for a sequel to Skies of Arcadia or possibly a remaster that could be used to gauge interest in the IP.
