Sable creative director forms new studio Eteo, aims to release first game in 2027

It has been announced that Gregorios Kythreotis, the creative director of the acclaimed indie title Sable, has founded Eteo, a new studio that is preparing to launch their first game in 2027, backed by indie games fund Outersloth.

The details:

• Based in London, Kythreotis founded the studio in 2024 and views it as the next step in his career, taking lessons learned from his architecture background, his work at Shedworks, and the success of Sable to explore new creative avenues that prioritize emotional engagement and storytelling.
• The studio's upcoming project is being funded by Outersloth, the indie games fund owned by Among Us studio Innersloth, with both parties aligned on an approach to sustainable game development that prioritizes long-term creative projects over short-term commercial gains.
• While the studio is not yet ready to reveal details about their debut game, Eteo is launching a free monthly newsletter called "Eteo Archetypes" beginning in 2026, which will examine one game design archetype per month through the lens of three different games, written by various contributors.
