Screenshots from a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, as well as new release details, have been uploaded to developer Virtuos' website ahead of its rumored release later this month.

The details:

  • Over the last few years, it has been reported that game development service provider Virtuos was collaborating with Bethesda to create a remake of the beloved 2008 RPG Oblivion using Unreal Engine 5. Earlier this year, new gameplay details for the game were leaked, and prominent insiders have recently claimed that the game will be shadow-dropped in the week of April 21.

  • Now, Virtuos' website has confirmed that the game is real and will be called "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered." While no release date has been found, it will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Game Pass, and is a collaboration between Virtuos and Bethesda. Bethesda Dallas and Bethesda Rockville.

  • Several screenshots of the RPG's new visuals have been shared, including direct comparisons to the original 2008 title. This includes a now-iconic shot of the exit to the Imperial City sewers tutorial area, a spriggan in front of some Ayleid ruins, the interior of a bar, the city of Anvil, an Oblivion gate, and the player shooting down a goblin on the Imperial City's main bridge.

  • A Deluxe Edition of the game will also be available, with additional weapons and horse armor, most likely a nod to the original game's infamous horse armor DLC, which was credited with being one of the first premium AAA single-player microtransactions.
