Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake gameplay details reportedly leak, allegedly releasing later this year

Fresh details about a rumored remake of Bethesda's hit 2006 RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has reportedly surfaced online, giving fans a glimpse into the changes made from the original. It is also stated that it is scheduled to arrive in mid-2025.
The details:
In July 2023, a Reddit user claiming to be a former employee of developer Virtuos claimed that the company was working on a remake of Oblivion in Unreal Engine 5 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, while also using the original Gamebryo engine for some gameplay features. Plans for a remake were confirmed later that year by leaked court documents from Microsoft, albeit dated 2020.
As reported by MP1st, a new update on the project has surfaced from the website of an unnamed Virtuos employee who worked on the title for the past two years. According to the website, the "fully remade" Oblivion will include changes to core systems such as stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction, and the HUD.
MP1st describes the new blocking system as being inspired by Soulslikes, after the original version was deemed too "boring" and "frustrating." Archery will be more modernized for both first and third-person gameplay, sneaking damage calculations have been reworked and icons highlighted, and hit reactions will "improve the response to damage inflicted" on players and opponents. Stamina, like blocking, will be "less frustrating for the player" as knockdowns will be more difficult to trigger, and the HUD has been "easier to understand and more aesthetically appealing to young players"
As for an expected release date, podcaster NateTheHate, who has a track record of accurate Xbox-related reports, claims that Oblivion will be available in June 2025. Microsoft's next Developer_Direct is scheduled for January 23, and a reveal could come alongside an announcement regarding the company's rumored plans to bring Halo and Microsoft Flight Simulator to the PS5 and Switch 2.
