Kingdom Hearts 4 has finally resurfaced with a new gameplay trailer, confirming that Sora’s next adventure will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

The details:

  • As announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, Kingdom Hearts 4 will be β€œavailable at launch on Nintendo Switch 2,” making it the first mainline Kingdom Hearts to arrive natively on a Nintendo console day one. As part of the same Switch 2 push, native collections of the earlier Kingdom Hearts games are coming to Switch 2 in October, replacing the original cloud versions.
  • The new footage is the most detailed look at the game in over four years, this time showing actual gameplay of Sora battling the Heartless in the realistic world of Quadratum, swinging between buildings with his Keyblade and making use of all-new combos and abilities.
  • Square Enix has still yet to share any release window for KH4, but the new trailer and platform confirmation signal that development has moved beyond the early concept stage shown in the original 2022 reveal, suggesting it could be coming in the next few years.
