Jurassic Park: Survival announced by Saber Interactive
Saber Interactive, best known for World War Z and the upcoming Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, has announced that it is developing a single-player action-adventure Jurassic Park game that will take place immediately after the original film.
The details:
The title was revealed at The Game Awards with a new trailer and is set on the day after the events of the original 1993 Jurassic Park film. Players will take on the role of InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was unable to escape Isla Nublar with the other survivors.
Saber has stated that the gameplay will consist of "an intense mix of first-person stealth and action in thrilling encounters with dinosaurs," with each dinosaur having its own "distinct and adaptive behaviors." The studio added that it was created with the franchise's fans and those who "revel in narrative-driven games" in mind.
The game will be released on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but no specific date has been set. Given that Saber's parent company, Embracer Group, is still restructuring with numerous layoffs, and Saber is reportedly struggling with the development of the Knights of the Old Republic remake and has delayed Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2, we may be waiting a while if issues arise.
More gaming news:
Kojima Productions has revealed its new project OD, which is being developed in collaboration with Xbox and will make use of the latter's Cloud Gaming technology.
The second season of HBO's The Last of Us TV series will premiere in 2025, with filming beginning in February 2024.
