Gears of War: E-Day confirmed as an Xbox exclusive

Xbox has announced that Gears of War: E‑Day will launch on October 6, 2026, as a console exclusive, coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC with no PS5 version planned.

The details:

• During the latest Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft confirmed that the prequel will not be available on PlayStation, with Xbox reversing its plans to bring its biggest IPs to other platforms following the appointment of new CEO Asha Sharma.
• At launch, Gears of War: E‑Day will be available on Xbox Series X/S and Windows via Steam and the official Xbox app and will also be included in Game Pass as a day-one release.
• E‑Day is a prequel set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, following a young Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as the Locust Horde first erupts on Emergence Day and humanity scrambles to survive.
• An open beta is scheduled for August 6, 2026; players who pre‑order will get early access to the beta and unlock an Exfil Dom character skin and Exfil weapon skin set at launch.
