Five Lord of the Rings games to be released by March 2024

Embracer Group has revealed that it has five Lord of the Rings (LOTR) titles in the works to release within the 2023–24 fiscal year.

The details:

In Embracer’s recently released financial report for Q3 2022, the company revealed its sales growth compared to Q3 2021, alongside plans for future releases.
The report confirmed that its external partners are working on a total of five LOTR games, with a film also in development. The holding company acquired Middle-Earth Enterprises in August 2022, including IP rights to the LOTR and The Hobbit franchises. The games are planned for release in the 2023–24 fiscal year, which ends in March 2024, although there’s no information regarding the movie’s targeted release date.
Embracer’s studios currently have 224 projects in the works, including 31 AAA titles, with 19 scheduled to release before March 2026. Out of those 224 titles, 94 will arrive during the 2023–24 fiscal year, with 58 yet to be announced. Dead Island 2, Payday 3, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 are among the 94 and are scheduled to release during 2023.
