Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PC in September, and its demo is now available
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XVI's long-awaited PC port will be released on September 17, and a demo of the game is now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The details:
After over a year of being a PS5 exclusive, the game will be available on both the EGS and Steam in two editions. The base game is priced at $49.99, but the Complete Edition, which includes the title's two expansions, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide, comes in at $69.99.
The free demo allows players to experience the game's opening section, and save data can be transferred to the full version of FF16. Square has also included an exclusive mode in the demo dubbed "Eikonic Challenge," which focuses on the game's combat systems.
Square confirmed prior to FF16's launch in June 2023 that a PC version would be available in 2024, as its exclusivity deal with PlayStation would expire at the end of the year. Earlier this month, it was discovered that a profile for the game was included in a new Nvidia driver, sparking speculation that an announcement would be made at Gamescom. It has also been claimed that an Xbox version is in the works, with an announcement expected soon.
