Halo reportedly coming to Switch 2 and PS5 with Final Fantasy VII Remake planned for Xbox, reliable leaker claims
Microsoft

NateTheHate, a podcaster with a track record of accurate leaks, claims that Microsoft plans to bring the Halo series to both the PS5 and the Nintendo Switch 2, and that Square Enix will release Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth on Xbox.

The details:

  • NateTheHate, who previously correctly predicted that Microsoft would bring some of its Xbox exclusives to rival platforms last year, has now claimed (via VGC) that the company will be a "very big supporter" of the Switch 2, bringing both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator to the console this year. The podcaster also claims that both titles will be released on Sony's PS5, making it the first time Xbox's iconic FPS series will appear on the system of its direct competitor.

  • It is also claimed that Microsoft intends to update its existing Switch port catalog with additional features for the Switch 2, including 4K support. NateTheHate added that he "wouldn't be surprised" if both Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are released on the new system, following previous reports that Microsoft had decided to skip a Switch release of the former in favor of waiting for the Switch 2.

  • Outside of Microsoft, NateTheHate has stated that Square Enix is preparing to release the PlayStation-exclusive Final Fantasy VII Remake on the Xbox Series X/S sometime this year, with a sequel, Rebirth, coming in 2026. Both titles debuted on the PlayStation 5 before moving to the PC a year later, but Square Enix stated that after Rebirth and FF16 underperformed as timed exclusives last year, it intended to pursue a multi-platform strategy in the future.
