Reliable leaker shares detailed Switch 2 render, and accessory maker leaks more Joy-Con details
A leaker with a track record of sharing accurate 3D renders of tech products has now shared images and a detailed render of what is said to be the Nintendo Switch 2. Meanwhile, accessory manufacturer Genki has continued to reveal new details about the console's functionality.
The details:
OnLeaks (via 91mobiles), which is known for sharing renders of unreleased Samsung and Google Pixel smartphones, has shared a new 3D render of the Switch 2. According to the leaker’s render, previous reports of the console's larger 8.4-inch screen and relocated USB-C port are correct, and the Joy-Con controllers also include the rumored buttons under the triggers and a magnetic connector.
Genki, an accessories manufacturer currently exhibiting at CES, has shared additional alleged Switch 2 details. Speaking to The Verge, CEO Eddie Tsai claims that the new Joy-Cons will include an optical sensor that allows for mouse functionality. Last year, shipping data for the Switch 2 mentioned the inclusion of mouse components, and leaked images from earlier this week fueled speculation that the controllers could perform mouse-like functions.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Genki was using an accurate replica model of the Switch 2 at CES to showcase its upcoming products, with the model appearing almost identical to the render provided by OnLeaks. Genki also claimed that the console will be released in April 2025, with Nintendo set to reveal the system by the end of March.
