EA reveals new Battlefield 6 battle royale details ahead of playtest later this week
Electronic Arts

EA has shared the first official details regarding Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode, confirming its player count, map, and more.

The details:

  • Ahead of the battle royale’s playtest later this week, the publisher has confirmed that each match will feature 100 players, split across 25 four-player squads. More elements of the core Battlefield experience will also be present, including classes, custom loadouts, and a heavy emphasis on destruction. “Destruction will be everywhere in this mode,” EA said. “From creating pathways through walls to toppling buildings, we look forward to seeing players’ ingenuity with destruction and how they use it to defeat their opponents.”
  • EA states that the mode will also feature the “deadliest ring in BR,” which prevents the traditional “rat” strategy of hiding at the edge of the playable area by instantly killing those that come in contact with it. As the game goes on, players will be forced to move closer together, and with the class progression system granting more benefits throughout a match, encounters will become more hectic.
  • BF6’s battle royale does share some similarities with Call of Duty’s Warzone mode, as not only will players be tasked with hunting down various weapons and pieces of equipment, such as armor, but there are also squad missions. Details of the types of objectives players will be given have not yet been revealed, but the missions will reward powerful guns, vehicles, and even redeploy beacons that allow you to bring teammates back from the dead.
