EA DICE's Screenshot Specialist Reveals How to Create Stunning Images in Cyberpunk 2077
Petri Levälahti, a Senior Cinematic Artist and Screenshot Specialist at EA DICE, known by the alias "Berduu," recently shared a video tutorial on how to capture stunning screenshots in the game Cyberpunk 2077. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Berduu provided valuable insights into the art of in-game photography, emphasizing the use of specific mods available on Nexus Mods to enhance the screenshot-taking experience.
These mods included the Appearance Menu Mod for props and precise character positioning, Frans Bouma's camera tool for precise adjustments, and CharLi for lighting. Berduu also highlighted the importance of character pose packs for a wider range of options and mentioned capturing shots in higher resolution, specifically using a resolution of 1920x2400. Notably, Berduu mentioned disabling DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) for capturing shots.
Cyberpunk 2077, developed by CD Projekt Red, is an open-world, action-adventure role-playing game set in the futuristic metropolis of Night City. The game's visually stunning environment and dynamic characters have made it a popular choice for in-game photographers like Berduu.
Berduu's journey into becoming a Screenshot Specialist at EA DICE began in 2014 when DICE approached him for freelance screenshot work on Battlefield 4. His work extended to titles like Battlefield Hardline and the alpha/beta of Battlefield 1. This collaboration eventually led to Berduu relocating to Sweden to work full-time at DICE.
Reflecting on the future of in-game photography, Berduu noted its increasing accessibility and popularity, with many games now featuring dedicated photo modes. He expressed hope that these photo modes would continue to evolve, emphasizing the importance of unrestricted camera movement over filter selection. Berduu asserted that a good photo mode should empower users to capture their desired shots effectively and without limitations.
