CD Projekt Red shares major update regarding new IP Project Hadar
CD Projekt RED

CD Projekt Red has provided an update on its new franchise, codenamed Project Hadar, confirming that it has now had its universe foundations locked in and moved into a more hands-on prototyping phase, while hundreds of developers are being shifted onto The Witcher 4.

The details:

  • During the company’s latest earnings presentation, joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski told investors that work on Hadar is “progressing dynamically” and that the team has now established the core foundations and distinguishing features of this entirely new IP’s world.
  • Now, the 26-person team has entered a conceptual prototyping stage, designing specific gameplay elements, building multiple test scenarios directly in Unreal Engine, and using them to live‑test how different mechanics and systems feel in practice.
  • The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, continues to be the studio’s main focus, with roughly 499 developers now working on the next mainline entry after CD Projekt hired more than 220 people over the past year, most of whom were placed on the fantasy RPG sequel. Meanwhile, 149 employees are working on the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077.
