CD PROJEKT RED

CD Projekt has officially renamed its parent company to CD Projekt Red, unifying the entire organisation under a single brand name that previously only referred to its game development studio.

The details:

  • Until now, CD Projekt was the publicly listed parent company while CD Projekt Red operated as its game development arm - the studio behind The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077. Following a shareholder vote, the entire group will now operate under the CD Projekt Red name.
  • The company's Management Board stated the change "will ensure full brand consistency and facilitate the identification of the Company with its products on the global market," citing benefits for global communications, recruitment, and recognition among both players and business partners.
  • The rebrand follows CD Projekt's divestment of GOG, its PC storefront, in December 2025. Co-founder Michal Kicinski acquired 100% of GOG's shares for approximately 90 million PLN (around $25 million USD). The company has confirmed it will continue to release its games on GOG despite no longer owning it.
  • With GOG now separated, CD Projekt Red's focus is entirely on game development and publishing its own franchises - principally The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk Orion, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, both of which are currently in development.
