Bethesda says Oblivion Remastered's Switch 2 optimizations are being looked at for PC, PS5, and Xbox

Following the Nintendo Switch 2 launch of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on August 11, Bethesda has confirmed it is looking into bringing Switch 2 optimizations to the PC, PS5, and Xbox versions of the game. No timeframe was given, and the game has not been updated on those platforms since July 2025.

The details:

  • Bethesda posted on X: "We've heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able."
  • The Switch 2 version launched alongside a day one patch that addressed crashes and visual glitches, and appears to include performance improvements that were not applied to the earlier releases.
  • Oblivion Remastered launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in April 2025. Players on those platforms have requested further optimization work ever since, with no updates arriving in over a year.
  • Bethesda has not confirmed when the patch will arrive or which specific optimizations will carry over.
