Bayonetta 3 has now sold over one million copies

PlatinumGames’ hack-and-slash has officially sold over one million copies after a little more than three months on the market.

The details:

• PlatinumGames has announced via its official Twitter account that the title is now a million seller, despite only releasing on the Nintendo Switch.
• The release of the game was surrounded by controversy after the former voice actor of the title character, Hellena Taylor, claimed that PlatinumGames had only offered her $4,000 for the entire project. Following these allegations, sources disputed the claims, with alleged proof that she had been offered $15,000 and was receiving $3,000–4,000 per session before Jennifer Hale took over the role.
• Despite the situation causing many to pass on purchasing the title, the game was still well received, with most praising the gameplay while criticizing its story for being a letdown.
