Street Fighter 6 has sold over 2 million copies

The game has been a significant improvement over its predecessor, both commercially and critically.

The latest title in Capcom’s long-running fighting game series has sold over 2 million units within its first month, a stronger performance than that of its predecessor.

Street Fighter 6 has sold over 2 million copies since its June 2 release, according to Capcom's official Twitter account, with all players receiving "a small token of [Capcom's] appreciation" within the game. Despite the achievement, the publisher expects the game to sell 10 million units, according to its president, Haruhiro Tsujimoto.
2 million copies is an improvement over the sales of the game’s predecessor, Street Fighter V, which sold 1.4 million copies within a similar timeframe. According to SteamDB, the sixth numbered installment in the franchise has also seen much more success in terms of player numbers, at least on PC, with SF6 reaching a peak of 70,573 following its launch, whereas SFV only managed to reach 14,783. Player counts have also remained consistent, with a 24-hour peak of 36,364 at the time of writing.
Street Fighter 6 was also a critical success, receiving an average of 92 out of 153 reviews on OpenCritic. Many are praising its inclusion of more single-player content, such as the new open-world World Tour mode, which Street Fighter V lacked due to its emphasis on multiplayer. However, its release was not without controversy, as Capcom added Denuvo Anti-Tamper to the PC version of the game just days before its release, raising concerns among players about its impact on technical performance.
