EA has announced that it is beginning to sunset Battlefield Hardline on last‑gen consoles, confirming that the shooter will be removed from sale on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May before its console online services are switched off in June.

The details:

  • As announced by EA on Monday, from May 22, Battlefield Hardline will no longer be available via digital storefronts on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with all associated DLC and other purchasable add-ons, meaning new players will no longer be able to buy the game or its expansions on console.
  • Online services for the decade-old FPS on PS4 and Xbox One are then scheduled to end on June 22, at which point the game’s multiplayer modes and other connected features on those consoles will no longer be accessible. However, players who already own the game will still be able to access the single-player campaign.
  • The PC version is not affected by this shutdown, with EA confirming that players will still be able to purchase and access the game as usual.
  • This move follows a similar shutdown of the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions of Battlefield Hardline and the closure of their online services in November 2024. Other Battlefield titles have also had support pulled in recent years, including the Bad Company series and Battlefield 1943.
