PlayStation State of Play returns September 3 with two back-to-back broadcasts

Sony has confirmed a State of Play showcase for September 3, with two broadcasts airing consecutively. The first will cover PlayStation Studios and third-party announcements, ending with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation. It will be immediately followed by State of Play Japan, focusing on developers from Japan and Asia.

The details:

The main State of Play begins at 6AM PT / 9AM ET / 2PM BST on September 3 and streams live on PlayStation's YouTube and Twitch channels. State of Play Japan, hosted by Yuki Kaji, airs directly after with deep dives into Japanese and Asian studio projects.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the only game Sony has confirmed by name for the main showcase. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Naughty Dog's new IP which has been absent since its reveal, is the most widely rumoured appearance.
The showcase arrives ahead of the October release of Marvel's Wolverine and is expected to include a preview of Sony's broader 2027 lineup.
