Astro Bot credits suggest Rayman, Croc, and Stellar Blade bots could be coming in a future DLC
The credits for Team Asobi's hit PS5 platformer, Astro Bot, mention several franchises and characters that do not appear in the current game, implying that they will appear in the free DLC later this year.
The details:
The game, which contains numerous references to various past and present franchises that have been closely associated with PlayStation, includes credits for all IPs in the game (via MP1st), including those that did not make the final cut. This includes Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, Beyond Good & Evil, and Rayman; Shift Up's Stellar Blade; Team17's Worms; Argonaut's Croc; and Koei Tecmo's Rise of the Ronin.
The above characters do not appear in the full game, but they may be included in the upcoming free challenge and speedrun DLC. In an interview with Quest Daily, creative director Nicolas Doucet confirmed that the DLC would be released by the end of the year, but that it would be "small" and that "some characters that we didn't include yet will appear."
Astro Bot was released last week to widespread acclaim, with many describing it as Sony's answer to Mario while praising its 3D platforming and incorporation of PlayStation history. Despite most players enjoying the game, Days Gone director John Garvin expressed his displeasure with Deacon St. John's appearance in promotional materials, claiming that the character was "reduced to a cartoon schill."
