Studio Wildcard

Studio Wildcard has confirmed that the official online servers for ARK: Survival Evolved on Nintendo Switch will go offline on August 31, 2026, ending multiplayer for over a million players who used the official infrastructure. No reason was given for the closure.

The details:

  • The shutdown covers both the original ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Ultimate Survivor Edition on Switch. August 31 is the final day for official server access.
  • Single-player mode will continue to work after the shutdown, and unofficial servers are expected to keep running. Only the official server infrastructure is being taken offline.
  • Studio Wildcard cited more than one million players having passed through the official Switch servers over the game's lifetime. The studio gave no explanation for the decision.
  • ARK: Survival Ascended, the remastered version of the game, launched on PC and consoles in 2023 and does not appear to be affected by this announcement.
