Xbox Insiders can now stream "select" titles from their own game libraries on consoles
Microsoft has now enabled Xbox Insider program members to stream a selection of titles from their personal game libraries directly from Xbox One and Series X/S consoles.
The details:
Last month, Microsoft announced that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers would be able to stream a selection of 50 games not available on Game Pass from a variety of devices via Xbox Cloud Gaming if they had purchased them. At the time, the feature was only available on PC, mobile, and other devices with a web browser capable of accessing the Xbox website.
It has now been announced that the feature, which is currently only available to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings, has made its way to Xbox consoles. This means that Series X/S players will be able to play games without having to install them locally, freeing up space and avoiding lengthy download times, while Xbox One owners will be able to enjoy the latest titles on their aging systems.
To access cloud streaming, players must first subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, then navigate to their owned game library and select "Play with Cloud Gaming" on a game with the cloud badge on its icon.
The library of cloud-enabled games currently includes only 50 titles from both AAA and indie studios, but Microsoft intends to add more games in the future as the feature is rolled out to more users.
